Came to Know Jesus When I Was 19

One weekend, my friends and I were hanging out, but we were missing the company of girls or some weed to get high. The atmosphere was dull, and we were looking for something to do. Then, one of my friends mentioned a church coffee house he had heard about. Initially, I was reluctant to go to a place where they preached, but the idea of meeting girls and potentially finding a source for weed crossed my mind.

We reached the church and started playing ping pong. While engrossed in the game, I noticed a guy approaching me – someone I recognized as one of the "Jesus freaks." He sat down beside me and immediately opened his Bible. My initial instinct was to leave, but I decided to stay, not wanting my friends to think I was afraid of a "little Jesus freak."

As an attempt to challenge him, I started engaging in mind games, asking him tough questions like, "Why are there wars?" and "Why do babies experience deformities?" He responded to each question with biblical explanations, but I wasn't interested and considered the idea of writing down something, numbering them, and later claiming it was a message from God. Eventually, I grew frustrated and told him to stop talking. To my surprise, he countered with, "Would you ask God if He had a Son who died for my sins?" In an effort to silence him, I reluctantly said yes, expecting nothing to come of it.

However, I suddenly felt a sensation akin to a weed high, yet this experience was far more superior, real, and of a supernatural origin (a chill up and down my spine). It later became clear to me that it was the work of the Holy Spirit. A supernatural smile adorned my face, as if I were emitting immense joy, prompting my friends to speculate that I had partaken in weed without including them. I explained the true source of this feeling and elaborated on Jesus' sacrifice on the cross for all of us. A few of my friends even turned to Jesus after witnessing this supernatural event.
